Print & Packaging Solutions Limited is a UK manufacturer and supplier of paper laminate, polythene, Kraft paper, and cotton bags, based in Southampton, in Hampshire.
The company was formed in 1998 by its two owners, David Page and Andrew Willison, both of whom have considerable experience in print and related trade. It has a production facility in the UK for short runs and fast turnarounds, and for longer and larger runs, factories in Europe and the Far East.
Dusza didn't develop just one site for Print & Packaging, but rather a series of completely content-managed sites. One for each of its bag printing services, and a further group web site that contains core information about the company, including news and client testimonials. Whilst each site shares the same design elements, and uses the same page layout and navigation to provide consistency in user interaction, they are all coloured differently to furnish each with a suitable degree of contrast and variety.
On the landing pages of all the printing sub-sites, thumbnail images and snippets of information are automatically pulled in from that particular product line and presented in an easy-to-navigate catalogue overview. This enables visitors and customers to immediately find the product of interest.
There is also a Featured Product Area, present in the footer of every page, where the site administrator can choose which items are worthy of a little extra promotion. A further area in the title banner may also be used by the site administrator to advertise special offers and other services. As well as managing these areas, the site owners may also update any other content on the site, and manage mailing lists and customer enquiries from its Content Management System (CMS).
Setting up each print service its own sub-site may have been technically quite challenging, but it does have its benefits, especially in terms of search engine marketing (SEM). Now that there are half a dozen print-related sites, with each linking to one another, it gives Print & Packaging a greater chance of appearing in organic search listings in sites like Google, Yahoo! and Bing for related searches.
As a result of this and further SEM consultation with Dusza, Print & Packaging has been able to dramatically reduce its spend on Pay-Per-Click advertising campaigns but without reducing its exposure in search engines or the volume of traffic to its sites.
